The Settlers (Serf City: Life is Feudal)
Haven’t you always wanted to be king? Indulge your fantasy in the world of The Settlers. You alone determine how your kingdom will be formed, how large it will be, whether to limit your ambitions to agriculture, breeding of stock, and fishing, or whether you want to start an industrial revolution. Turn back the clock 25 years and relive the fascination of this classic in gaming history!

The start of a franchise
The Settlers (Serf City: Life is Feudal) was the first game of The Settlers franchise, and it was developed by Blue Byte Software. It is a strategy game with cartoony graphics and an innocent line in humour. At the start of the level you choose a starting point, the intention being to get lots of flat land as well as resources to mine and ideally existing sources of trees, stones and water (for fish). Your people are vying for supremacy with up to 3 others.

Gameplay
The gameplay focuses on resource management. Each building requires a certain amount of wood (and stones for some of them) to be constructed and requires particular resources to perform its function successfully. Food must be produced (either fish, bread (requiring a windmill, grain-farmer and baker) or pork (requiring a pig-farmer and butcher as well as the grain-farm) to feed the people working in mines to produce the iron, coal and gold (as well as additional stones).

Missions and maps
The game features 30 preset missions. 6 tutorials missions will help beginners to learn the game mechanics. The game also offers the possibility to play semi-randomly (based on a 16-number key) generated maps. The map size varies from small maps, for quick matches, to large maps to - depending on how much RAM is available - huge maps, for very long matches. The in-game statistics can be displayed on a 50-hour scale. These semi-random maps can be played in single-player mode but can also be played by 2 players on one system, if you have 2 mice, in which case the screen is vertically split.



The Settlers II
As leader of the Romans, take over the responsibility for the fate of your people, in this modernized version of the highly detailed and humorous economic simulation game, now Windows 10 and auto-save compatible, featuring graphical updates, multiple resolution options, and mouse, keyboard, and controller support.

Become a settler
Build your kingdom with the help of hunters, soldiers, shipbuilders and more at your command. Develop elaborate settlements from a variety of over 25 different building types. Face the challenge of 49 different maps or use the easy-to-use map editor to create your own additional new worlds with dense forests, mighty volcanoes, vast mountains and more. Construct a fleet of ships, to explore uncharted waters and supply provisions to new islands.

Settle in on a new land
After fighting a losing battle with drought and the mysterious disappearance of their women, a brave people set out to sea. The survivors need your help as they are challenged to the ultimate test: survival. Food and building materials must be developed, for the productivity of future shipbuilders, foresters, brewers, and scouts depends on it. Construct gold, coal, iron, and granite mines. Cultivate the land, build farms, establish fisheries and hunting grounds, build up your stocks of animals and manage forests; the well-being of your subjects rests in your hands. Most important is to get your women back!

Enemies
Build up your economic power base and tame the land. Prepare to defend your hard-won kingdom - for you are not alone! Watch out for the, hot-blooded Nubians and the technologically advanced Asian kingdoms. Send out your scouts, position your soldiers on the borders of your kingdom, build look out posts, and give the order for more catapults. Let the battle commence!

Mission CD expansion
The Settlers III: Mission CD is the first expansion pack of The Settlers III. In the new campaign you play as the great-grandchild of Octavius (who you played in the original game) who is on a quest to conquer the world. During the campaign you have to fight your enemies on all 6 continents through 9 missions. The base outline of these maps look like their real counter-parts and are very huge. Each has it's corresponding climate, too. In one mission you have to fight the vikings on Greenland in deep snow and in another you fight the natives of Africa in a mix of desert and veld. Also there come 12 new maps for the free game-mode with this add-on, there's now also a editor in which you can build your own maps with the only limitation that you can't make a map on which you can use ships.



The Settlers III
In this lavishly designed, strategy-filled fantasy civilization simulation, you have your industrious little subjects construct buildings, produce goods, and conquer new lands in exciting real-time battles, all now Windows 10 and auto-save compatibility, and with graphical updates, multiple resolution options, and mouse, keyboard, and controller support.

Part three of The Settlers series continues with the real-time strategy game concepts of the series. In order to conquer the known world, you must supply your armies with weapons, food, and wine for morale. To do this, these things must be produced using raw materials, in buildings which require wood and stone to be built. Each job is undertaken by one of 150 unique characters, across over 100 distinct buildings.

There are three nations: Romans, Egyptians and Japanese. Each nation has its own styled buildings and (dis)advantages. New features are the inclusion of moving catapults, ballistics and cannons, giving the combat system more realism and increasing the prominence of military tactics. Priests can cast spells, which can gain more resources or destroy the enemy. In addition, naval aspects are also more detailed than ever before.

Mission CD expansion
The first mission CD for The Settlers III includes 10 new single player missions and 10 new multiplayer missions that can be played against human opponents over the Internet, and enhanced AI for computer controlled races. Each people also has its own new, three new eight-mission single-player campaigns. Also included is a level editor which lets you create new missions for both single and multiplayer.

Quest of the Amazons expansion
Quest of the Amazons is the second expansion of The Settlers III, featuring 10 new maps for single-player mode, 10 new maps for multiplayer mode, an improved map editor, a new race (the Amazons), and two new twelve-mission single-player campaigns. The new race, the Amazons have 50 new units, 30 new buildings and 8 new spells. In the two new campaigns of twelve levels each, you play either as the Amazons fighting the Romans, Asians and Egyptians or as the Romans, Asians and Egyptians fighting the Amazons. The expansion also patches the game to introduce some new features (though the appropriate patches can be downloaded separately) beyond the 10 new single-player maps, 10 new multi-player maps and the enhanced level editor. One of the new units is the thief, who can steal raw materials and weapons from other players' territories.



The Settlers IV

The Settlers IV is the 4th real-time strategy game in the Settler series, building upon its predecessor with some graphical improvements, new buildings and features. You now can zoom in and out without steps and the game supports resolutions up to 1280x1024. Also there are enhanced multiplayer features and the game supports built-in voice chat.

A new threat
Just because of a little uprising, Morbus has been banished to Earth by HIM, the highest god of all. It really could not have been worse for this particular villain, as Morbus cannot bear the sight of anything green. He definitely doesn’t plan on letting it stay that way – his Dark Tribe will soon be waging war on the Earth’s flora and fauna.

Lead your settlers to victory
The Romans, the Mayans, the Vikings, and the Trojans are the four industrious little races you’ll be settling with. The seamless zoom function allows you to take a close-up peek as your settlers go about their daily business, or to zoom out for a bird’s-eye view of how your very own empire is coming along. Put your settling skills to the test as you gather resources, establish and manage trade routes, manufacture goods, or wage war. It’s up to you to lead your tiny settlers to victory! Are you up to the task?

Defeat the Dark Tribe
The world the settlers live in is threatened by Morbus who wants to turn the land into a wasteland with the help of his Dark Tribe. There are 3 normal short campaigns where the player controls either the Romans, the Vikings or the Mayans. In a much longer campaign you switch between the three races to combat the threat of the Dark Tribe. The tribe sometimes abducts settlers and puts them to work on their fungus farms. To defeat them you have to destroy their fungus farms that maintain a toxic barrier around their dark fortress where they also build their troops. After the fortress is destroyed you win the game. You can turn the wasteland back to greenland with your gardeners and priest's.

Mission CD expansion
The Mission CD is the first add-on for The Settlers IV and features five new campaigns, three "Settlement" missions and three "Conflict" missions. One campaign requires the player to build vast armies to overcome the enemy attacks, another instead focuses on building up a settlement and winning by strategic expansion. Each campaign also continues the story from the main game. The add-on also features 16 new single player and 18 new multi player maps for each of the three game modes and introduces the powerful map editor as well as a random map generator, improved AI, more varied mission objectives, more sophisticated scripting within missions, and higher difficulty in single-player games.

The Trojans and the Elixir of Power expansion
The Trojans and the Elixir of Power is the second add-on for The Settlers IV and introduces the Trojans as a new, playable faction including their own 12 mission campaign with new music and new cutscenes. During the story the player, as the Trojans, needs to prevent Morbus from finding and using the Elixir of Power which would make him invincible. The fact that he stole the knowledge about how to build flying machines from the Trojans and now uses them against them makes things not easier. It also includes thirteen new maps for single-player mode, thirteen new maps for multiplayer mode, three new four-mission single-player campaigns for each of the original three races and four Settlement missions, improved graphics, adjustable difficulty, an updated AI which uses the resources on the map more intelligently, and the random map generator and map editor included with the Mission CD. Each faction also has new spells available and the Trojans get access to a new unit called the Backpack Catapult Carrier. Other additions include the return of the observation window which allows the player to keep an eye on a part of the map in a small, additional window.

The New World expansion
The third add-on for The Settlers IV includes a one five-mission campaign for each of the four races. Also included are two new single player, three new multiplayer maps and high resolution ground textures for all new single player maps. These textures were already used in the new campaign maps but the player can also admire them by checking the button "New World" in the random map generator. The Vikings discovered America - the new world. But instead of claiming it for their own, they announce a regatta: Whoever arrives first in the new world, can keep it. Neither the Romans, Trojans or Maya say no to the challenge and each race has their own reasons to get to the promised land as fast as they can. The expansion begins with the Mayans organising a feast for the Vikings, before travelling to Europe with the aim of taking possession of the Wonders of the World, beginning with the Colossus of Rhodes. The Vikings, meanwhile, discover a map amongst the Mayans' possessions leading to a mythological island inhabited only by women, which they promptly set out to find. The Trojans, having been expelled from Troy by the Romans, are searching for a new homeland, and so head west. At the same time, the Romans, under the lead of Caesar, are attempting to reconquer the world, beginning with the newly discovered continent.

Community Pack expansion
The Settlers IV: Community Pack (also known as "Great Crusades") is the fourth expansion pack of The Settlers IV. The expansion features four fan-created single-player campaigns based on real historical conflicts; during the Punic Wars the Romans land in Sicily and prepare for their attack on Carthage; at the beginning of the 2nd century, the Vikings want to conquer the mighty kingdom of England; the Huaxtecs were the only tribe that defied the Spanish invasion forces and now their leader prepares a campaign for vengeance; during the reign of Alexander the Great and at the time of the Wars of the Diadochi, the Trojans expand their empire.

Enjoy a total of more than 20 hours of exclusive gameplay on 7 new maps! There are also new trading options, new Trading Board, new Monastery Type (“Occult”) offering new “Occult” technologies, and a new Techboard. The 5 new Campaign-Maps with more than 2 hours of playtime each are Prologue: Chained (Free Play - Domination Mission), Escape from the North (Story- and Quest-driven Mission), Confederation of Faith (Story- and Quest-driven Mission), Trials of Old Monhaim (Victory Point Mission), and Rebel Realm (Story- and Quest-driven Mission).

The Two Kings expansion
The fourth expansion of The Settlers 7: Paths to a Kingdom, The Two Kings includes a co-op mode, a new 2-player map, new AI Player, new Event Location (Throne of the Kings) and 3 new Victory Points. The new 2 player map is the Forest Realm, which is located in a wide open mountain valley marked by thick forests and very spacious meadows, where the two kings face each other on opposing sides of the valley. 2 new maps exclusively done for the brand-new cooperative mode are: the Tower Island, which is a menacing place, where four rulers challenge each other. The island is dominated by the central Tower of Tandria. Gaining access to the tower may be key to your success. And the Throne of the Kings, where two teams compete for the Throne of the King. There are different starting conditions, so you need to adapt your strategy according to your position.
