The Eastern Realm
The Eastern Realm is the first add-on to The Settlers: Rise of an Empire, featuring a new eight-mission single-player campaign, fifteen new maps for single-player and multiplayer modes, an enhanced map editor, a new knight, and several new embellishments for the player's settlement.

Story
The Goddess of the Green Fire doesn't like the old Eastern Empire which is now under your rule. So as any good enemy, she threatens the current state of peace and has to be eliminated. But yours is not the only state in the Eastern Realm that is threatened by the presence of the Goddess so the beautiful Saraya, only child of Praphat, Mogul of Hidun, allies herself with you.

Exciting new landscapes
New 8 map campaign based on the Indian environment offers a beautiful and detailed world. Besides the new campaign the add-on also includes new multiplayer- and single player-maps. Three multiplayer-maps and four single player-maps were made by the community during a mapping contest held on the official website of the game.

Enhanced challenges
New “Monsoon Rain” season allows players to test their skill as they survive in harsh weather conditions. This season features a two-month monsoon season during which time farmers and beekeepers cannot work, fishing is impossible, rivers cannot be crossed, and bathhouses are closed.

Immersive gameplay
Automated monthly transactions and new well system now allow the player to have more control than ever over his empire. Trading posts can be used to establish regular (once a month) trade with a trading partner.

New Characters
Geologists assist the player in order to create a thriving empire. Geologists are already known from the previous games, but unlike the previous games in which tehy scouted good places for new mines, this time they can reactivate already dry iron-mines.
