As the fourth installment of the series, Heroes of Might and Magic IV brings many new features to the game while retaining the old interface design and gameplay. It's also the last in a series made by the original development team, New World Computing.

The Gathering Storm
The first expansion pack for Heroes of Might and Magic IV, The Gathering Storm adds six singleplayer campaigns, 4 new creatures, 16 new artifacts, and 30 scenarios. The story is about five heroes who unite forces against a crazed wizard called Hexis, whose powers disrupt the laws of Nature and threaten their homeland, Devonshire. There are eleven new adventuring map locations, sixteen new artifacts which you will find in the campaigns and provides bonus abilities if you wear some of them, and a new music track is included in the expansion.

Winds of War
The second expansion pack to Heroes of Might and Magic IV, Winds of War adds six more singleplayer campaigns, 3 new creatures, and 45 scenarios. In each of the six campaigns you take the role of a leader of a country who, for various reasons, has set their eye on the Life kingdom of Channon and wants to conquer the capital city of Rylos for their own. They are: Spazz Maticus the Witch King (Chaos), Mongo the Barbarian (Might), Mysterio the Magnificent the Battle Mage (Order), Erutan Revol the Beastmaster (Nature), and Baron Von Tarkin the Dark Lord (Death). The add-on also adds several new features and improvements to the map editor.
